Crews will be placing the beams for the Birnham Woods bridge between Lake Bend Shore Drive and Legends Run Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
One lane will be closed on the bridge as work is completed. Traffic control will be in place to direct vehicles.
Motorists should expect delays. However, work is being started after rush hour/school traffic in the morning and should be completed prior to peak traffic in the afternoon/evening.
The bridge construction is part of the road project that will widen Birnham Woods from north of Fuller Bluff Drive to north of Elan Boulevard, creating two lanes in each direction with traffic signals at the intersections where Birnham Woods crosses Legends Run and Elan.
