*Update* Email we received from Union Pacific Railroad regarding railroad crossing arms on Rayford Road at Lazy Ln-

I’m the UP signal manager you spoke to at Rayford Road back on 08/14. My personnel and I spent that afternoon going through the control unit trying to duplicate the intermittent problem we were having but had no success. At that point we changed the complete unit to avoid another failure. I have not received any reports since then of any failures.
I would like to apologize for any delays area residents had to endure. The Union Pacific Railroad, as well as myself and my signal employees take all grade crossing failures seriously and do everything we can to minimize failures.

Recently, there have been several problems with rail road crossing arms East of Interstate 45 which are operated by the Union Pacific Rail Road. The Precinct 3 Commissioner’s Office is aware of the problem and we are working closely with the County Attorney’s Office, The Sheriff’s Office, the Constable’s Office, and Union Pacific to resolve the crossing arms malfunction. Although the ultimate responsibility rest with the Union Pacific Rail Road, the Precinct 3 Commissioner’s Office is committed to coming together to find a solution that would benefit the citizens of South Montgomery County.
