The Rayford Road at I-45 acceleration lane is now open for use.

“This is just one of many improvements that are coming to the congested Rayford Road corridor,” said Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack. “Improving the mobility and safety along this road is a top priority of my office.”

The $462,510 acceleration lane, wholly funded by the Precinct 3 Commissioner’s Office, allows motorists traveling west on Rayford Road to turn onto the I-45 northbound frontage road and merge onto the feeder road without stopping and merging onto the main lanes of the feeder.

“The Rayford road acceleration lane has cut down at least five minutes off of my commute time to The Woodlands,” said Cody Zegarrundo, a 24-year-old resident of Lockeridge Farms. “Anytime I can spend less time on the road is a plus in my book.”

This mobility enhancement has already received positive feedback from numerous constituents who drive this corridor regularly.
